About

In 2003, some resourceful librarians from NGO resource centres Cape Town, got together and formed a group to discuss issues related to small, specific library collections.

Four years later, we extended our network onto the internet and named ourselves CANGONET, or Cape NGO network.

  1. I run the resource centre for the Centre for Rural Legal Studies in Stellenbosch. We deal mainly with issues relating to labour of farmworkers in the Western Cape. We have a Legal Aid Clinic, to which farmworkers can come with work related problems. We are also very active in training people from Advice Offices, Trade Unions and other related NGO’s working in the field.

We have approximately 10,000 documents in our resource centre. We have just upgraded to the latest version of Inmagic, and are busy linking all our Centre publications to the bibliographic records. Our holdings are available via South African Studies, produced by NISC.
